Its always good to have some of those essentials mapped out ahead of time.

I agree, I would even consider buying something in bulk that I would want or need before planning on moving.

A few things I always forget are tooth brush, tooth paste, deodorant, and soap. I guess I feel I can buy them most anywhere I go. And if you are have your stuff in a carry-on, it can be a pain going through TSA.

I'd definitely miss snow, too. We've talked about this a few times concerning owning a home at one of our favorite vacation spots. We always come to the same conclusion... I think the "magic" would wear off after a while and we'd end up sorry that we wanted to live there instead of just vacationing.

Katharina I think it really depends on the place. Living and working in a place is very different to just going on holiday. If you only see the place in the summer you may find that it is very different in the winter.

This is a good point, that the "newness" or "magic" would eventually wear off. It would be a nice place for getting away but in the end I don't think I would want to live there.

I remember hearing something on the radio, a woman who lived in Derbyshire England, said that the view was good for her soul and she thanked God every day for the wonderful view and for the wide horizons. I think I can understand that.

I love to stay in beach walking and watching the sunset.
